The SacBee recently reported that Catherine Moulton, a former project manager for Walt Disney Imagineering, will be leading the $50 million project to transform the former PG&E Power Station on the banks of the Sacramento River at Jibboom Street into an educational center.
The center will become the new home for the 60-year-old Discovery Museum Science and Space Center and will serve as a model for 21st century experiential science, technology, engineering and mathematics education and environmental stewardship. The complex will feature exhibits, a digital theater, planetarium, restaurant, merchandise shop, labs, classrooms and open park space.

The project, currently in the design phase, will be located at 3615 Auburn Blvd and is scheduled for completion in 2013.
