The Auburn Journal recently reported on Auburn residents Traci Beitz and Tina Roholt who created HairFlairz, a clip-in hair jewelry which are now being sold throughout the Auburn region.
“It’s kind of snowballed so quickly,” Roholt said. The idea has its roots in something Roholt was making in the 1980s called Crazy Braids. But she let the copyright lapse. When the two woman recently started thinking of how to update it for a 21st century look, one addition was feathers. Their business strategy is to work with one retailer exclusively in a given area. In Auburn, that’s Belle Beauty Supply. So far, they’ve put HairFlairz into seven stores from Sacramento to the foothills.
