The recent Christian Women’s Brunch at Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin featured two guest speakers from Eisley Nursery in Auburn, California. Earlene was the owners daughter who has grown up working at the family nursery for years. She now works in the business office managing the nursery. The Eisley family chose to stick with the “mom and pop” style that the nursery is know for.
Eisleys is a family run business which was started in the 1930?s selling pansies from their front yard on Nevada Street to make ends meet. Today the tradition still goes on with the nursery taking pride in having a good supply of quality nursery items for their customers. Earlene talked about using vegetables in your flower gardens to add visual texture, variety & good food!

Today, what they didn’t have the room for to sell at the nursery, they chose to wholesale to other nurseries. The wholesale market became the nursery’s primary emphasis. They service retail customers from a 100 mile radius of Auburn, CA.

In July they start planting the poinsettia’s from seeds/cuttings for Christmas. You can sign up for a tour to see the beautiful red poinsettias mid November in the greenhouses before they are shipped out around Thanksgiving time to wholesalers. You can find beautiful displays of colorful trees, flowers & shrubs to help you set up your own home gardens all year long.

When you shop at Eisley, you feel like you are with friends. The staff there will help you to pick out plants for your gardens, or give you great suggestions of plants that will work well for your area. You will also find free popcorn, tea, and coffee for the customers.
